Reaktor is Now Europe’s Second Best Workplace

The software house Reaktor came second in the Best Workplace in Europe survey this year. Reaktor’s ranking improved since last year when it was ranked third. In 2008, Reaktor was number one in Europe, and earlier this year the company was awarded for the fourth time as the winner of the general category of Finland’s Best Workplaces 2011 survey.

"The credit for this success goes to all of the 150 Reaktor employees who make Reaktor better every day. This continuous development of the company is intrinsic to everyone at Reaktor", says Reaktor’s managing director Vesa Lauronen.

"Reaktor’s value chain has always started from its people. This understanding also shows in excellent customer satisfaction and economic success", says Panu Luukka, the managing director of Great Place to Work Institute Finland.

"Why do people enjoy working at Reaktor? If you have a chance to listen to how proudly the people at Reaktor talk about their own organization, you don’t need more explanations. Reaktor is the common thing of all its employees, and to many of them it is much more than just a job", Luukka continues.

Investing in people’s wellbeing also shows in Reaktor’s financial numbers. Last year Reaktor’s turnover reached 18,4 million euros (a 10 % increase from the previous year), and the company’s result was around 3,5 million euros.

"Most important is, however, that we have satisfied customers that are successful forerunners in their own fields", says Lauronen.

Finland's Best Workplaces surveys are conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, which annually surveys the best workplaces in more than 40 countries around the world. The European survey was joined by more than 1300 companies that had participated in national Great Place to Work surveys in 17 different European countries. The best workplaces are mainly selected based on the opinions of the organizations' own employees. Two thirds of the score is directly based on employee survey responses. In addition, each participating organization fills a background questionnaire on the organization's human relations management practices.
